the end of the wait/the beggining of the journey

Well, we have been on 2 radio shows in the last 2 weeks on Urban Latino Web Radio via itunes ‘n a live video feed. Shouts out to Patty Dukes, Reph Star & Interstate P, check out the ORGAN DONATION & REGISTRATION RESOURCES VIA THE “CIRCA’95” BLOG & to Victor Cruz, Enlightenment & Quiana for all the love & opportunities to share our story with the world on the Victor Cruz Morning Show! (audio mp3’s coming soon of both of the shows interviews)

I'm sitting here in Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx. I just submitted my last urine sample for testing. We will know the final results of all my testing on May 7th 2009!

Scary exciting & hope filled I am, there are soo many concerns I have based on simple needs in life right now!

The most important thing is to be healthy as possible now & after the transplant for longevity & preventative measures against physical/mental/medical complications.

I’ve met quite a few people on this journey that have been through the fire, & have come out unscathed. This of course, is a good thing!

It reinforces my hope for 100% recovery for us both.

One of my worst fears is that I fall prey to unforeseen factors due to my heart disease & diabetes family history on my birth fathers side. This concern is for my love (Marly). Through all of this, we don't need 2 sick people on the long term tip, right?

I know God & the universe is watching over us & our love grows deeper every day, which in turn helps to give us the strength, that living hope for each other through this trying time.

Man, just the simple logistics of holding down all the responsibilities like rent at my apartment (my brother Pete just went through surgery & we are pooling resources)…
I have a studio in Bushwick, Brooklyn that also requires rent to be paid, a phone bill to be covered, to little things like FOOD (what a concept! I still have to eat), toothpaste, laundry, carfare, other incidental bills etc. & top it all off, I'm still for the most part unemployed from the economic crisis last fall!!!

please donate any amount you can!

Get this: unemployment says I'm not eligible because the 2nd quarter of last year, I made too much money, & the quarters all combined did not equal to 1/2 of that second quarter!!!

WTF???

They have no concept of a freelance educator/consultant’s work & life, which of course is a rocky ebb & flow of income, often resulting in a “monthly” paycheck from contractors.

Basically, I'm suffering because I busted my ass when the work was there for me & when it was not, I was looking for more work. Of course this makes no sense at all, just cuz I made more money in a short amount of time than lots of people make in longer periods of time for less money, is basically telling me I'm screwed!!! Does this sound familiar folks?

It's not fair to say the least!!!

I will be either forced to apply for welfare/Medicaid, ask friends, family & my community to donate what available funds they can to my/our situation or gasp, both!

Then there is the issue of the healing period. Who will take care of me/us, feed me & make sure I'm not stuck in the recovery period? The brother I live with is laid up recovering himself, mom ‘n dad are out of the city/country, not to mention Marly will be laid up longer then I in her healing period… um, any volunteers?

Speaking of “HIP-HOP & HOPE” We are officially launching our health awareness through media & the arts project called HIP-HOP(e)!!!

There is this "CHIP IN" widget on the blog in the top corner. it says $1 has been raised for our health awareness project. Guess what? I'm the one that placed that buck in there in hopes that others may give what they can.

EVERY LITTLE COUNTS WHEN YOU ARE TRYING TO SAVE A LIFE!
Even 1 dollar can make a difference & an impact.

Do the math, I have about 1,000 friends family & business contacts just in emails, if every one person CHIPPED IN just $1.00, we would be able to hold down quite a few things on our needs list.

”Each one teach one” & we are in a serious life changing space right now. I never realized how intricately connected my life situation would be to my cause!

I say “my” cause but as a devout humanitarian, this is truly OUR cause as health & disease prevention is a global concern.

Pretty evident with all the induced hysteria surrounding the impending "swine flu endemic".

I spoke with mom in Mexico last night (she lives in Puerto Vallarta). She gave me a little low down on the swine flu from the perspective of a Mexican New Yorker in Mexico & all the media coming from her area in Mexico… wow, what a trip...(I’m gonna post the audio I recorded of her speaking on the subject last night via Skype real soon)

If anyone reading this can donate a little bit, please do. I never ask for anything from my friends, family or communities and right now is truly my darkest hour.

I hate begging. I’m a giver by nature. Mom instilled that way early on in life for me & for that I am sooo grateful.

In order for this initiative to really pop off, I have to be well enough to create the initial steps & mission statement & stressing about being homeless or malnourished is not helping!

We have some very incredible momentum right now. Some very supportive people in our lives have just begun.

We’ve even got an offer by a friend of Marly’s to write about our journey! Some folks have already said our journey would make an incredible movie! As much as I am opposed to sensationalism, well…dang it, it would be HOT, this is a true to life Subway story from NYC & I gripping LOVE story!!!

This is a love story like no other & holy sh*t, we are living it! Oprah, are you listening???

We really need your support. I know there are hundreds of causes out there that all deserve all our collective attention, prayers & action. My people, this is one of them!!!

Any comments of hope, donations big or small, physical support & well, smiles & positive vibration are surely welcome right about now!

Every one that knows me, knows I am a man of my word & I put my concepts into action to mobilize people to stick together in our collective struggle to overcome all obstacles in our way.

I sincerely pledge my life to humanity’s needs. My life has been blessed since Day One & that, my friends, is my motivation to strive to be the best human I possibly can be.

Please join us in our journey for hope, renewed life & passion for the good fight!

We all know that there is no end in sight, only that WE ARE the droplet that creates the ripple in the sea of life that spirals outward to create waves of love, devotion & real life worth living!
